Alex Theatre ST Kilda (ATSK) is an innovative theatre project set up to develop a more in depth understanding on how to keep stage and screen productions viable.
Founded in 2015 and located on Fitzroy Street in St Kilda to assist with the reactivation of this Melbourne Grand Boulevard.
This is a privately operated project proudly supported by Susan and Aleksandar Vass OAM through the Charity Alex Read Theatre Performances Inc and the Vass Theatre Group.

Alex Read Theatre Performances Inc envisions a vibrant and healthy community that supports, cultivates, and appreciates the arts. The Alex Theatre is home to a diverse array of performing arts groups, artists and technologists
The mission of Alex Read Theatre Performances Inc (ARTP) is to integrate the arts into the identity, growth and economic vitality of our local community by supporting, programming, presenting and creating partnerships that benefit youth, patrons, artists, organisations and businesses through the Alex Theatre project.
*All roles support the development and strengthening of our community – we are also open to other roles that you may consider missing from our organisation. As our community grows we want to support you in your endeavours to support others.

*Volunteer means an individual who offers their services, skills and experiences of their own free will to perform agreed tasks, outside of those designated for paid staff, for no financial reimbursement for the benefit to Alex Read Theatre Performances Inc, Community and the Volunteer.
Volunteering means time willingly given for the common good and of the volunteer’s own free will and without coercion; for no financial payment; and in designated volunteer positions only.
*Our Saints greet guests, scan tickets, and direct guests through the auditorium. They distribute programs, answer questions, respond to guest comments and/or complaints in a prompt and friendly manner, and perform other duties as assigned.
*Within our office, we need your assistance in an array of activities, including running our volunteer program. However, things go well beyond that as the vision of our Patrons Aleksandar Vass OAM was to create a team that would assist to support the Arts in every aspect of the administration, development, and staging of the Arts.
We need your help in:

*Shows don’t just happen; behind every production, you will find a Team of dedicated people enjoying another aspect of the stage of shows.
We are looking for Backstage volunteers to assist with:

|• Tech Crew
|• Set & Stage Design
|• Support Crew
Most of these roles do require some training and time to build skills through experience, but if you’re willing to learn we are happy to teach you.
